Guidance for Bringing Your Service or Emotional Support Animal to Pensacola Cottages
At Pensacola Cottages, we have a Pet-Free Policy*; however, as an exception, we welcome service animals as defined by the ADA 2010. These specially trained animals assist individuals with disabilities and are considered working animals, not pets.
(We require anyone traveling with an ADA Service Animal to notify us that a Dog will be in the home. We do not charge any extra cleaning fees but we do need to know if a Dog has been in a home to do extra cleaning to protect the next guests who may suffer from allergies to Dogs.)
We are proud to comply with all ADA requirements and make our cottages accessible to everyone. These special companions are exempt from our pet-free house rules and are welcome to join you during your stay with us.
Types of Service Dogs may include, but are not limited to: Guide Dog, Mobility Aid Dog, Seizure Alert Dog, PTSD Dog, Hearing Alert Dog, Diabetes Alert Dog, Migraine Alert Dog, Narcolepsy Alert Dog, Psychiatric Service Dog
At Pensacola Cottages, we understand the important role that emotional support animals (ESA) can play in the lives of individuals with disabilities. However, due to their lack of specific training, ESAs are not considered service animals under the ADA and will be permitted on a case-by-case request.
Types of Emotional Support Animals may include, but are not limited to: Companionship animals, Animals to relieve loneliness, Animals to help with depression, Animals to help with anxiety, Animals to help with certain phobias
*As animal lovers, we understand how much joy pets can bring to people's lives. At the same time, our focus is to ensure that all our guests have a comfortable and pleasant stay in a fresh, low-allergen environment. We are pet-free (and smoke-free); ensuring a clean, fresh, animal-allergen-free environment for our guests is our top priority.
